Classic Beni Ourain Rug

Our classic Beni Ourain rugs carry the full visual vocabulary of Berber weaving: dense diamond grids, asymmetric lozenges, and the running-stitch borders that mark each weaver’s identity. These are the rugs the Beni Ourain tribe has been making in the Middle Atlas Mountains for generations, unchanged in technique or material.

Every rug is hand-knotted from 100% undyed sheep’s wool on a vertical loom, with the cream or ivory background and charcoal markings that define the traditional aesthetic. The wool is sourced locally, washed in mountain streams, spun by hand, and woven without a paper pattern — each artisan working from motifs passed down through her family.

A classic Beni Ourain is a piece of living heritage. It belongs in a space where craft and history are meant to be seen: a warm living room, a quiet library, a bedroom where texture matters. Every piece ships worldwide with a certificate of authenticity and a photo of the weaver who made it.
